Advent 1 - Sunday 27 November

Mary holds that classic pregnant-woman pose,
one hand on tummy, one towards the small of her back.
She wears a blue gown and a slightly worried look on her face.
The angels almost seem to be opening the curtains on her,
presenting her to the world.
Is she ready?
What is she thinking about?

Have been pondering this for a few days. Is she ready? no ante natal classes!! What will it be like being God's mum? What will he look, feel, smell like? Will she know how to feed him? Will Joseph's relatives help with the birth? Has she talked to her family about what to expect? Why is there not a 30 week limit on donkey travel? Would her accepting attitude to the news of the plan still be her main thoughts ...
